Small business owners in Sweden were managing cash flow through spreadsheets, accountants, or not at all. Swedbank had the data but no good way to surface it meaningfully. SME owners needed a simple, visual snapshot of their finances — inside the banking environment they already used every day.
Designed Företagskollen as a native-feeling feature inside Swedbank's digital banking platform. The tool pulls real transactions and bank balances, sorts and categorizes them, and generates a forward-looking cash flow forecast — visualized in a way that any business owner can understand at a glance. Led the design process end to end, from research through coding and feature refinement.
Successfully rolled out to 400,000+ Swedbank SME customers, backed by a major marketing campaign. Became a standalone product beyond Swedbank's platform — now reaching additional users and expanding toward mobile.
Spent time with small business owners across Sweden to understand their relationship with financial data. The consistent finding: most felt overwhelmed by numbers, mistrustful of forecasts, and disconnected from their bank's digital tools. They needed something that felt human, not like a finance dashboard.
Designed Företagskollen to feel native inside Swedbank's existing digital banking product — not a bolted-on tool. Every design decision prioritized clarity and confidence over completeness. Worked closely with the Asteria and Swedbank engineering teams to ensure the forecasting logic was accurately represented in the UI.
The product launched inside Swedbank's platform with a full marketing rollout. User feedback shaped continuous iterations. Over time, Företagskollen grew beyond Swedbank into a standalone product, and mobile expansion became the next frontier — something the original design system was built to support.
